Transferring DHA (Defence Housing Authority) plots typically involves a series of steps and procedures to ensure a smooth and legal transfer of ownership. Here’s a general overview of the process:
  1. Verification of Ownership: Before initiating the transfer process, ensure that you are the legal owner of the DHA plot. If you’ve purchased the plot through a legitimate transaction, you should have the relevant ownership documents, such as a sale deed or allotment letter.
  2. Obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC): If the plot is mortgaged or has any outstanding dues, you’ll need to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from DHA confirming that there are no objections to the transfer of ownership.
  3. Visit DHA Office: Visit the DHA office or designated transfer facilitation center to obtain the necessary transfer forms and documents. These may include an application form for transfer, transfer deed, affidavit, and any other required paperwork.
  4. Fill Out Transfer Forms: Complete the transfer forms accurately and ensure that all required information is provided. You may need to provide details such as your personal information, details of the plot, and information about the buyer or transferee.
  5. Submit Documents: Submit the completed transfer forms along with supporting documents to the DHA office or transfer facilitation center. This may include original ownership documents, NOC, identification documents, and passport-sized photographs.
  6. Pay Transfer Fees: Pay any applicable transfer fees, taxes, or charges as specified by DHA. These fees may vary depending on the plot size, location, and other factors.
  7. Verification and Approval: The DHA authorities will verify the documents and process the transfer request. Once everything is in order and all dues are cleared, the transfer will be approved.
  8. Issuance of Transfer Letter: Upon approval, DHA will issue a transfer letter confirming the change of ownership. This letter serves as legal proof of ownership and should be kept in a safe place.
  9. Registration: In some cases, you may need to register the transfer with the relevant land registration authority to complete the process. This step ensures that the transfer is legally recognized.
